The team at A B Medical Services (UK) Ltd repatriated a patient back from Germany recently, the team covered over 1,500 miles and travelled through 3 countries.
The journey started in Kent, England where our ambulance and crew boarded the Ferry. It was plain sailing from there until they reached France. The team then traveled through the mountains, rural areas and motorways and finally reached southern Germany after a nights rest.
After a through handover from the Medical Team in Germany, the team met their patient and made him comfortable on the ambulance and started the journey back to the UK via France to catch the Eurotunnel in Calais. Once the patient was back on home soil, the last leg of the journey was to Bristol where the team were met by a group of Nurses and Doctors and the patient was handed over to them.
Although A B Medical Services offer flight repatriation services, after consulting with our client and their Doctors, it was decided that a road transfer was best.
Here’s a few pictures of from the trip and a testimonial from our client.
We cannot praise A B Medical enough. Ash was very helpful. He took away a lot of the worry we were all feeling and reassured us all. He is a credit to your firm. I would thoroughly recommend the service you give to anyone needing assistance in repatriating a loved one stranded abroad
